St. Briavels Youth Hostel, Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire

February Half-Term 2012

The much loved annual youth hostel trip this year returns to an atmospheric (and haunted) medieval stronghold in the Royal Forest of Dean; a castle that formed part of the infamous Ring of Stone in the 12th Century.  The purpose of the trip is to allow choir members to form firm friends with one another and to enable intensive rehearsals to improve the sound of the choir.  The residential workshop trip culminates in a concert held in the local church - please travel down and support the choir's hard work if you're able.

Tradition states that on the 3rd night, a cabaret will be held after the fancy-dress medieval banquet!  So guzzle your victuals, don your armour, saddle your steed, and prepare to impress all and sundry with your creative talents!

Spring Concert, Adrian Boult Hall

Saturday 28th April 2012, 7pm

This concert was originally scheduled for Christmas 2010 as part of our 25th anniversary year, but we unfortunately had to cancel it due to the heavy snow.  We are delighted to announce this concert in its stead, and if you bought tickets to the Christmas 2010 concert, those tickets are still valid.  New tickets can be bought via the box office or on the door.

Bournville Young Singers will be joined by some of our friends to help us sing Vivaldi's ever-popular Gloria, which will form the second half of a full and varied programme.  The Gloria will be accompanied by a chamber string orchestra and our friends include the Bournville Graduate choir, directed by Stephen Ellis.
